If you arrive by car, there is parking available right in front of the gym Strong For Life, if parking spaces are full there is a large car park near the entrance of the site (all parking is free to those attending)
Arrivals are from 6.15pm; the door is securely locked (with fob entry for members) so just knock on the door and I will welcome you in
You will be shown where you leave your belongings before we start at 6.30pm
Laura, Amy and I will then gather you together for a group welcome before settling in to the main programme for the evening
You can wear whatever you are most comfortable and able to move in. This can be leggings, stretchy pants, yoga pants, t-shirt, gym top, the goal is comfort and ease not judgement.
You can wear trainers or lifting shoes if you wish. If you feel comfortable, you may prefer to perform these movements barefoot or in socks for grounding, you can choose.
As the amount of movement within this workshop will be variable from sitting, standing, performing basic movements and sitting quietly / lying down you will benefit from bringing layers to manage your temperature a jumper, hoodie or blanket until you warm up or to stay warm during the more peaceful moments.
If you have you own Yoga mat or a favourite cushion for the guided reflection then bring this along. Do not worry if you don't we will have these at the gym.
You will want to stay hydrated throughout this immersive workshop, so please bring along your water bottle. You will be able to refill your bottle from our kitchen area (we have cups and glasses if you forget so don't worry).
As long a you are not suffering with an acute injury or illness where there is risk of infection transmission this workshop could be just what you need to ease yourself back into the world of exercise.
This holistic strength workshop is all about connecting with your inner self, sensing what you feel within your physical and mind body and bringing this together for safe movement that transfers into your life outside of the gym and long after you leave the energy of our workshop.
When you claim your place you will receive a medical check form to ensure we are aware of any individual needs to accommodate and to give you opportunity to ask your GP any questions and get clearance where needed.
There is plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions, share your stories and experiences during this immersive experience, however, we understand there are many ways to process and enjoy the workshop together. If you prefer to observe some elements of the workshop and / or to take in the atmosphere and shares quietly, we celebrate you for owning your energy, there is no requirement to speak or share throughout the workshop, jus let us know how we can best support you.
